Our Mission

Words to Live By was created by Kannapolis, NC poet and mental health advocate Jim Love.

The project brings together poets, musicians, and storytellers sharing work shaped by lived experience. Each artist comes from a different background, but all are committed to honest expression and careful listening.

Words to Live By was built through relationships with local artists and arts organizations. The work is rooted in community and shaped by collaboration.

No two performances are the same. Some pieces are heavy. Some are hopeful. Most land somewhere in between. Together, they form an evening that feels human, grounded, and real.
